Visiting the Pyramids Be Like ...

One thing I wasn’t prepared for when visiting the pyramids was seeing the condition some of the horses and camels were in. It was genuinely heartbreaking and difficult to witness. I want to be clear that this isn’t about judging people who are trying to make a living in a country where many are doing it tough.

Most are simply trying to survive and support their families. But that doesn’t make it any less upsetting to see animals that appear overworked, underfed, injured, or not receiving the care they deserve.

If you’re planning a trip to Egypt and want to ride a horse or camel, please do your research beforehand and choose operators that prioritise animal welfare. I also think more education and support around animal care could make a huge difference.

These animals and people work incredibly hard and deserve kindness, proper care, and respect. Just something to be aware of before you visit ????????????
