✋Hello! Today we will visit The Pantheon - one of the most well-preserved structures from ancient times. Its architectural style has inspired many buildings worldwide, including the United States Capitol and the Jefferson Memorial.

Commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus in 27 BC, the original Pantheon was destroyed twice by fire. The structure we see today was rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian around 126 AD. Hadrian retained the original inscription attributing the building to Agrippa. The Pantheon is famed for its harmonious proportions and its massive domed roof, which remains the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. The dome's diameter and height are equal, forming a perfect hemisphere. At the center of the dome is the oculus, a 8.2-meter circular opening that allows natural light to illuminate the interior. The entrance to the Pantheon is supported by 16 Corinthian columns. The interior of the Pantheon is a magnificent blend of light and space, with marble floors and walls adorned with colorful patterns. Originally built as a temple for all Roman gods, the Pantheon was changed into Christian church in 609 AD. Today, it continues to serve as a church and is also the final resting place of several notable figures, including the artist Raphael and King Victor Emmanuel II of Italy.
