Team Losi Micro and Mini Baja up close.

A short tribute of the RC's that entertain me through the wet and dark seasons.
The Micro and Mini Baja come from 2007. They were pulled from the stores pretty quickly. Reason for this, or so i've heard, was because Losi didn't have the rights to reproduce the Beetle shape (that's why nobody has ever made a Beetle sound module; Volkswagen owns the copyright).
Both are very reliable and enjoyable cars to drive indoors, especially the Micro Baja.
Handling of both is, like any Losi buggy, excelent and predictable with a bit of natural understeer.

Specs Micro Baja:
Independent suspension. Dampers can be simulated by gently tightening down the screws of the upper suspension link (works awesome).
Ride height can be adjusted by sliding a small piece of silicone tubing over the shock body.
This Micro Baja has the optional bearing set.
The standard differential is tough and efficient. Can be adjusted by carefully tightening/loosening the screws of the gearbox.
Transmission has an adjustable slipper clutch.
Throttle and steering are proportional.
Battery pack is a 4,8V 150 mAh. It's no longer available, but a replacement for it is the SportDog MH120AAAL4GC. You just have to resolder the plugs.
Wheelnuts are lightweight red anodized. Standard ones were plastic.
Transmitter/receiver is 27mHz with crystals and adjustable steering rate (end point adjustment).
Weight is 105 grams.

Mini Baja:
Independent suspension with oil filled shocks. This one has the optional shocks. The original ones were leaking out of the box.
Standard ball bearings.
Transmission has an adjustable slipper clutch.
Ride height can be adjusted with clips.
The motor is an upgraded RX 280 and came as standard.
Battery pack is 7,2V 1100mAh.
The Mini Baja came with paddle- and mini pin rear tires, front narrow ribbed tires, glued onto bronze plated wheels.
Transmitter/receiver is 27mHz with 6 built in selections of 27mHz frequencies (no crystals required) and adjustable steering rate (end point adjustment).
Weight is 580 grams.

Both are, apart from shocks and bearings, completely stock.
Both bodyshells have custom painting.
