SOCIAL DISTANCE, HEARTS CLOSE - Video 8

We decided to invite international puppeteers, clowns and all creative minds to be part of a BEAUTIFUL CHAIN OF SOLIDARITY TO SPREAD SOME LOVE during this period of self-isolation and social distancing. #socialdistance_heartsclose

With our NGO called Helping Hands Turkey, we have the dream to transform this forced social distancing and unfortunate self-isolation into a choice to actively show solidarity and spread some love.
We have been building since 2 years a joyful psycho-social project with puppets to help Syrian refugee children thrive and facilitate their integration process.
Since 10 days, we had to close our Center and put our activities on hold because of the virus, and that, for an undetermined period.
Our children beneficiaries are very sad about this situation, as the puppet workshops were their ray of joy in their week. They are now isolated at home, feeling lonely, most of them don’t even have toys nor games to fight boredom. The only way for us to communicate with them is by WhatsApp and they are used to watch video on Youtube on their parents phones. I came up with this idea:
To start an international puppet chain of solidarity by posting videos on our youtube channel to spread some joy and love.
As the channel is public, we hope it will reach not only our beneficiaries but every child that needs some sunshine to warm their heart.

------------------How to participate----------------
It’s simple, create a short video clip (it doesn’t need to last more than 1 minute, unless you are super inspired! ;) ) with (a) puppet(s) (or any other objects that you can animate), showing how you pass time at home, fight boredom during your self-isolation, or totally imaginary, it could be humorous or simply informative (with hygiene tips for example). As it will be an international project, the best would be that the puppet uses a non-verbal language.
Start the video by saying your name and end the video clip by saying the sentence: “You are not alone, love from (say the city and country where you are from)."

You don’t need to be a professional puppeteer with sophisticated puppets, just bring your personality and imagination along, it could even be made by children.
