The 22 year-old burgeoning rapper grew up in project housing in Mobile, AL before relocating to Sacramento only to battle homelessness. Last year, a hometown show in Mobile ended with the E-40 signee taking a bullet during a shooting. But according to him, if you’re not laughing, you’re crying. In an interview with Hot 97, he laughed it all off. “It wasn’t funny then, but it’s funny now… That s--- hurt.” So while you watch Peezy’s performance of “Big Homie,” know that, underneath the charming smile and natural stage presence, this is a guy who has gone through a lot to be here.
