Hike up Sugar Loaf Mountain Wales with kids

A wintery Saturday spent walking up The Sugar Loaf mountain near Abergavenny in the Brecon Beacons, Wales with my 9yr old.

We parked at the free National Trust carpark and made our way up from there.

We did a spot of #Geocaching along the way which keeps it more entertaining for young children.

From the top you can see right across Monmouthshire, Abergavenny and the Beacons as well as some peaks including the Skirrid and in the distance Pen Y Fan.

You want to allocate around 2-3hrs to get to the summit if you are walking with kids - it's a great family friendly hike with fantastic views. Do pack plenty of water and snacks as well as warm clothes as the summit can be cold and windy
