Bondyechi Bhaji/ Banana flower recipe/ Kele ke phool ki sabji/ केले के फूल की सब्जी
In this episode of Dream cooking I am making garland of Ananta flower. This garland is locally known as “ZELO” (Ananta flower is also known as pin wheel flower, crepe jasmine, milk flower or Tabernaemontana Divaricata) This Zelo is oldest way of making garland for household puja, tulsi puja etc. It is believed that Its pure white color brings divinity and purity in you house.

Povli : is oldest house hold utensil made from betel nut leaf. Made by simple origami style folds, it is still very commonly used in local Goan villages. May it be for cutting and washing vegetables and fish, eating rice kanji/pej, and even washing newborn baby cloths which need to be hygienically maintained Povli is still very popular.

Bondyechi Bhaji : before cutting banana flower we should use oil on hand otherwise hand get stain due to sap which oozes from banana flower. Take banana flower pulled back all tough reddish leaves from exterior part till white heart of flower remain. Detach the florets attached to the base, take out the thin stem from inside the floret. Know chop the heart of flower and florets and soak them in water quickly because they tend to turn brown fast when it is expose to air. Soak it for half an hour or overnight.
Take a bowl with water put 1 spoon turdal in it and soak it for 10 minute, after soaking it, take a kadai put tsp coconut oil, once it is heated put chopped onion, chopped chilli, soaked turdal, salt and grated coconut and mix well, cook for five minutes and serve it
