“From the K, to the A.” That rhyming tag is frequently used by Louisville, KY-born rapper 2KBABY in interviews when folks ask where he's from - he and his brother slash producer Busta Keys now call Atlanta home. It’s the result of a concerted effort to take advantage of the city’s pre-eminent hip-hop scene. “Ain’t Youtube beats no more,” the melodic rhymer proclaims. Last year’s “Old Streets,” which Busta says is the first beat he ever made, put his bro on the map both in L-ville and the wider rap scene. That track was an ode to the nostalgic times of hanging outside, before the 502 got dangerous and insular. It also displayed 2K’s standout vocal ability. The Calboy disciple really doesn’t need autotune. Catch this Ctrl at Home sesh of “MAD,” which, after plenty of teases, followers have been clamoring for for a while. Here ya go.
