This Video shows the footage from Sergey Utyugov's GoPro. Sergey Utyugov is a professional base jumper who went to the Caucasus mountains in 2014 for a base jumping mission.

Sergey Utyugov used no safety equipment like specialized leather gloves or proper hook for ziplining. He used a typical carabiner specifically meant for rock climbing, not ziplining. This led to him losing control over his speed and rushing down the cable at speeds up to 60 km/h. The cable was an old rusty industrial steel cable which hadn't been used in decades because of which the cable was sagged in the middle. This is why he rushed down the cable at such high speeds.

Thankfully Sergey Utyugov's carabiner crashed into a steel knot in the middle of the cable which stopped him from crashing to his death. He was later able to free himself from the carabiner and dropped into the canyon to open his parachute and landed safely.

This video acts as a stern reminder to the need of safety equipment when participating in extreme sports.
