The Great Pyramid still has secrets — but not the movie version. It is not full of golden rooms waiting behind every wall. The real interior is stranger because it is mostly empty: a descending passage, a subterranean chamber, the Queen’s Chamber, the Grand Gallery, and the King’s Chamber with a stone sarcophagus. Above that chamber are relieving spaces, built to manage crushing weight.

Then in 2017, researchers using muons detected a large void above the Grand Gallery — not by breaking the pyramid, but by reading cosmic particles passing through stone. The important part is this: no one knows what that void was for. It may be structural. It may be something else. The pyramid still has secrets, but they are not treasure chests. They are engineering questions.
