Shaming Margaret Court for expressing her views in plebiscite is 'totalitarian'

Sky News host Rowan Dean says John McEnroe and Martina Navratilova were “quite happy to take the money” to play in Dubai which is “genuinely homophobic,” and says their hypocrisy is “disgusting”.

The two former tennis champions condemned Margaret Court for her opinions on same sex marriage which Mr Dean said were “expressed legitimately” in the run up to the 2017 same sex marriage plebiscite.

Mr Dean told Sky News host Andrew Bolt Australia had the plebiscite to “canvass people’s opinions”, and for people to start “vilifying and worse, punishing people” for their views expressed during the plebiscite is “totalitarian” and “sick”.

Martina Navratilova “knows what communism is like,” says Mr Dean but she is “embracing the very tools of totalitarianism” by “shaming people for views they expressed legitimately”.
