In the world of Gypsy Jazz, Parisian guitarist Serge Krief is one of the best kept secrets. He is highly praised by Bireli Lagrene and George Benson, and the latter even brought him to the USA for a series of concerts. However, he prefers a lowkey life style and for his entire life, opted to remain in France to teach and to play locally. He was also a disciple of Matelo Ferret (Django’s accompanist) with whom he spent many years. Many of the top young French players studied under Serge.
