New Wineskins for New Wine - Matt 9

New wine is the best wine, especially when you are talking about the "new wine" of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as opposed to the "old wine" of the Pharisees or dead religion. New wine cannot be contained in the old, brittle and inflexible containers of the old wine...the old wineskins. The new wine will stretch and expand the old skins and they will rip and tear and both the skin and the wine will be lost. If we want all the joy and transformation of the "New Wine" of Jesus then we are going to have to get rid of the old skins (religion and legalism) and exchange them for the New Wineskins of grace and freedom in Christ. That requires willingness and desire. Are we willing? We must be soft and pliable in the Master's hands. Lord, may it be so.
