Neil Young Shredding Next to George Harrison & Eric Clapton

During the finale of Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, an unprecedented gathering of rock royalty assembled on stage to perform "Knockin' on Heaven's Door." In this excerpt, Neil Young steps out from the rhythm section, unleashing a gritty, feedback-laced lead solo on his famous "Old Black" Gibson Les Paul. Standing alongside George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Roger McGuinn, Young’s erratic attack provides a stark, fiery contrast to the polished acoustic strumming around him.

Recorded live on October 16, 1992, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the event celebrated Dylan’s 30 years as a recording artist. Dubbed "Bobfest" by Neil Young, the concert featured a house band led by G.E. Smith and drum legend Jim Keltner, bringing together generational icons from The Beatles, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for an unforgettable night in rock history.
