Don't assume your autistic child won't qualify for High Rate Mobility

This is one of the biggest myths I see.

Parents are often told their child can't qualify for High Rate Mobility because they can walk.

But High Rate Mobility under the Severe Mental Impairment (SMI) rules isn't about distance walked.

It's about danger.
It's about safety.
It's about the level of supervision needed outdoors.

I've seen many autistic children qualify because of the risks they face when out and about — even though they have no physical mobility difficulties.

That's why understanding the rules properly matters so much.
