The Westin is located a short walk away from the TELUS Convention Centre, Eau Claire Market, 2.5 km from the Scotiabank Saddledome.and the downtown CORE Shopping Centre. There is easy access to a number of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Calgary Stampede Park and the Calgary Zoo are just two miles (three kilometres) from the hotel.

Straightforward rooms come with flat-screen TVs, desks and WiFi (surcharge). Upgraded rooms offer free WiFi. Suites add iPod docks and TVs in the bathrooms, plus balconies with river or city views. In-room spa treatments are available for a fee.

Breakfast and lunch are available at a casual restaurant, and there's also a steakhouse/bar, a cocktail lounge and a Starbucks coffee shop. Other amenities include an indoor pool and an exercise room, plus a business centre and more than 26,000 sq ft of meeting space.

The best spot to enjoy a pre-dinner drink is the liquid lounge, open Monday to Friday from 4pm until 11pm. Try one of their signature cocktails, such as the carrot ginger fizz which includes Grand Marnier, ginger liqueur, fresh carrot juice and Prosecco.

In-room dining is available and includes an Eat Well menu for both adults and children that focuses on serving healthy meals.

Bed is comfortable, coffee maker and great work area. Only negative was Wi-Fi would cut out on phone frequently. I also think that any hotel that wants to cater to women guests should have a shower cap in the room.

We ate breakfast in the restaurant the next morning and this was delicious. We opted for the buffet, lots of yogurt, fresh fruit, hot foods, breads and pastries, coffee and juice.

If you're a visitor to Calgary, the hotel is also very well-located downtown, only a few blocks from the downtown shopping areas and even closer to the popular Eau Claire and Prince's Island areas. It's also only a few blocks from the public transit system which will take you right to Stampede Park, the Zoo, and lots of other tourist-friendly destinations. This hotel is a great choice both for tourists and business travelers.

The gym was great. Nice pool, weight room and cardio equipment.

I ate at the Keg in the lobby and enjoyed the food.

Parking is conveniently located under the hotel.

I would stay here again without question
