The Largest Stones Ever Moved?

The Largest Stones Ever Moved?
Deep within Lebanon stands a platform so enormous that it continues to challenge historians, engineers, and archaeologists.
It's known as the Temple of Jupiter at Baalbek.
The site contains some of the largest stone blocks ever used in construction.
Several weigh hundreds of tons.
Nearby, unfinished stones in an ancient quarry are even larger.
One block is estimated to weigh more than a thousand tons.
Even today, moving stones of that size would be an extraordinary engineering challenge.
Yet somehow, ancient builders quarried them, transported them, and lifted many into place.
Historians believe the Romans completed the massive temple complex.
But questions remain about portions of the foundation beneath it.
How were these enormous stones moved?
What techniques were used?
And why build on such a colossal scale?
More than two thousand years later, Baalbek remains one of the greatest engineering mysteries of the ancient world.
