Hungarian cuisine has many famous dishes, but "Főzelék" is something you might not often find on restaurant menus.

It’s not exactly a soup, not quite a stew, and “pottage” doesn’t fully explain it either. "Főzelék" is a thick vegetable dish that many Hungarians grew up eating at home or in school canteens.

Beans, potatoes, peas, lentils, squash… almost anything can become Főzelék.
