The Beatles Promo Film the BBC Refused to Show
Leírás
Paul McCartney directed three Beatles promo films at London's Saville Theatre in November 1967, but British viewers didn't get to see them as planned.
The problem was the Musicians' Union's rules against miming on television. Even making a special mix without the violas wasn't enough. Top of the Pops ended up playing the new Beatles single over footage from A Hard Day's Night instead.
Three days later, American viewers got to see Paul's film on The Ed Sullivan Show.
