President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is on an official State Visit to Jamaica, on Tuesday mentioned that he had a direct connection to the island nation situated in the Caribbean Sea.

In a statement that was more convoluted than it was strange, Mr. Kenyatta told his hosts that he has a connection with the country saying; “I can confirm given the fact that my wife’s brother’s mother comes from Jamaica and lived all her life in Kenya.”

This statement was confusing because the President was, in so many words, saying his mother-in-law is Jamaican which resulted in Mr. Kenyatta being trolled by Kenyans on Twitter all of Tuesday.
