Ron Humphries on Vision

Marilyn: Hey, thanks for tuning in again, I’m Marilyn. I’m here with Ron Humphries and we are going to ask a couple more questions.

So Ron, since you’re running for City Council, Ward 5. What is your vision for Kings Mountain?

Ron: You are absolutely on my favorite subject. Vision. My vision of Kings Mountain is I want Kings Mountain to be the place that my children and grandchildren will want to stay in and grow up in. So my grandchildren, let’s roll ahead to 2040.

So, in 2040, I see myself in Patriots Park, I see activities going on, children playing, music on the stage. There are town homes and houses within 15 minutes of walking distance of downtown and patriots park. There are businesses, there are great unique businesses that they can do most of their shopping here.

So in a nutshell, I would say… gosh, it’s quality of life. You know, this feels like home to me now and I still want it to feel like home then as well. So I want it to be comfortable and to have, always have a hometown feel.

Marilyn: Yes. As a young person that is music to my ears. That is what I’m looking for. I’m wanting to raise my family here and that is awesome.
