Our Holiday to Crete - September 2019

Our vacation in Crete.....September 2019. In fact 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018 too !! Last three years in Villa Margaret near the little village of Xirosterni. Our local larger village is Vamos and there are other villages within 15 minutes drive.

We have a swimming pool at the villa but a 12 minute drive and you are swimming in a warm, clear, sea off the rocks at Octopus Bay! Sandy beaches 20 minutes away but thats not our thing !

The thing about Crete.....apparently "broken" it may appear but unlike my town in England which is full of antique shops and not even a bank, villages the size of Vamos (population 600+) is self contained with several bakeries, grocery stores, "cafes", galleries, tourist office, etc etc. It even has a bank !!!

Guess what.....we'll be back !!
