Our day in beautiful Bequia

We were very fortunate that our cruise included the small island of Bequia. The Exotic Islands cruise usually includes St. Lucia rather than Bequia. Cruise ships can't dock here so this was our first experience of a tender between the ship and the shore. Bequia is wonderfully unspoilt and very relaxed as signs to 'Get your Cannabis here' confirm. Stroll around Port Elizabeth then we set off on the path to Princess Margaret beach. The path meanders along the shore, sometimes along the beach, sometimes right at the waters edge and is often only one person wide. It finishes with a spectacular staircase and wooden walkway. Princess Margaret beach is beautiful and relaxing. A beach bar promises 'Free Beer tomorrow', there is a tree with a warning that it is poisonous. After enjoying the sun we took a water taxi back to Port Elizabeth. This is a simple boat with a jerry can of petrol sat next to the passengers!
