KING ULTRAMEGA - Loud Love - Behind the Scenes: Live Studio Tracking w/ Alex Skolnick & Mark Menghi

A raw, behind-the-scenes look inside the studio capturing the foundation of our rendition of Soundgarden's "Loud Love."

When we set out to record this track, it was incredibly important to keep the process as old-school and organic as possible. We wanted to capture the genuine warmth, vibe, and movement of the original 1989 track, which meant bypassing modern digital shortcuts and recording live to tape with real humans together in the same room.

While Alex Skolnick and Mark Menghi are no strangers to writing and recording together, this session marked the first time they have ever tracked a performance live simultaneously, with real amplifiers blasting and the analog reel-to-reel tape machine running. The jagged, slinky groove of the Soundgarden catalog demands that level of connection, and they wanted to push themselves to lock in that rhythm section foundation perfectly.
