GIBBONS: THE FORGOTTEN APES with Dr. Susan Cheyne | Episode 82

Gibbons are apes? Why does almost everyone know gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans, yet so few people know about gibbons?

In this episode of Talking Apes, Gerry Ellis sits down with Dr. Susan Cheyne, one of the world's leading experts on gibbons and co-director of Borneo Nature Foundation.

After spending almost thirty years studying wild gibbons in the forests of Borneo, Susan reveals why these remarkable apes deserve far greater recognition. Together they explore gibbon evolution, spectacular brachiation, beautiful rainforest songs, lifelong family bonds, communication, intelligence and the threats these extraordinary animals face today.

If you've never heard a gibbon sing or wondered why they are known as the forgotten apes, this is the perfect place to begin.
Watch, listen, and discover one of nature's greatest hidden stories.
