Family Peace

In society and scripture we hear over and over that the family is the backbone of society. Yet we see, know of and hear of families inside and outside the church community that are characterized more by hostility and distance than by closeness and peace. Paul encourages us to let our homes be centered around Christ, filled with Him by the Spirit, and to submit to each other as we would to Christ. Consider what that looks like in real life with real people. Pray that as children we would honor our parents in submission to their value and role in our lives, and that as parents we would respond to our children in ways that submit our own agendas to what our children need to grow in spiritual maturity and character. And as a result of both, we pray that our families would be filled with the peace that is Christ as testimonies of His grace and the power of restoration only He can bring to all our relationships.
