Recorded during the final years of the Jazz Age, Egyptian Ella reflects America's fascination with all things exotic following the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Egyptian-inspired fashion, architecture, films, and music became a widespread craze throughout the 1920s, and songs like Egyptian Ella captured that spirit with a playful blend of hot jazz and popular entertainment.
