CYCLONE ALERT in UAE!

170kmph tropical Cyclone Maha hits UAE. Rough seas, strong winds, high tides and flooding expected. This is the second Cyclone in two weeks, last weeks Cyclone Kyarr, caused a man to drown in high waves in Dibba and flooding in kalba city having to evacuate 20 families. Residents are urged to exercise caution by:

1. Staying away from waters especially the eastern coast. Cities like khorfakkan, kalba in sharjah and dibba in fujairah lie on eastern coast.
2. Notice children playing outdoors.
3. Keep first aid kit ready and valuables in waterproof containers.
4. Electronic devices to be unpluged.
5. Stay away from glass windows and doors.
6. Don't walk besides shores or running water.
7. Don't stand under the trees and electric posts
8. Avoid mobile phones under these circumstances.
9. Reduce speed, do not overtake and maintain safe distance while driving.

Good news is that, the Cyclone is moving away from UAE.
