Coleman Shenanigans - Roll With It

My sister-in-law Tricia Diane Barton Coleman had a devastating stroke on October 18, 2019. She is married to my oldest brother Craig and they have 3 children, McKenna, Seth and Avery. Fortunately, many of our family was able to be by Craig and the kids’ side within 48 hours of this unfortunate news and we were there to morn her passing when she was eventually removed from life support on the 20th. Craig has always been the best example for his younger siblings and I was happy to see that all 5 of us were able to be with him and the kids during this difficult time. We’re scattered over 4 states, so this was not the easiest thing on short notice, but we all made it in record time.

With the distance and the responsibilities associated with our own personal lives, it’s not often that we are all together for a family photo, so we stepped outside their home in Carson City, Nevada on the 21st to take advantage of this moment. We’ve always been a lively bunch with a variety of wits and absurd goofiness. This video is a representation of how life was growing up in the Coleman home. It was nice to see that despite the pain of losing our wife, sister and friend we were able to find joy in being together and rolling with another one of life’s painful punches. It’s my hope that Tricia was given a bit of a glimpse of Craig and her sibling-in-laws being silly and goofy even when she had been gone for such a short time. I believe that most of us contemplate our own passing from time to time and imagine what it would be like to view life in our absence. Most of us probably don’t want our friends and loved ones retreating to a dark room to put their lives on hold thinking all is lost. We want life to go on for those we’ve left behind and for them to be happy and to have fun. This silly photo shoot didn't erase the pain, but it was one reminder that life goes on and that we can be happy. We will see Tricia again and we will have forgotten the pain we felt when she left this life.
