The band's name would indicate that this was a west coast group, bu it was another of Chicago music impresario Edgar Benson's stable of orchestras. The Seattle name was exotic sounding for many in the east and mid-west sections of the country and so it seemed like an excellent marketing ploy. Unfortunately they only had a few of recording sessions, one in the late summer of 1925 (two sides issued), July 1926 (no issued sides) and August 2 (two issued sides).
Recorded in Camden, New Jersey on August 2, 1926.
Personnel (from the 6rh edition of Jazz Records by Brian Rust):Eddie Neibaur, clarinet, tenor sax director: Earl Baker, Marvin Hamby, trumpet / Bennie Neibaur, trombone / Rosy McHargue, Artie Seaberg, clarinet, alto sax / Joe Thomas, piano / Leon "Sleepy" Kaplan, banjo / Swede Knudsen, tuba / Richie Miller, drums.
