Brave New (Mandelbrot) World

I came across the Mandelbulb3D software some years ago – but my computer always ran out of memory when I tried to run the program. Now I’ve tried again with a better computer and this was one of the first “bulbs” to come out. I'm not good enough at math to understand how Mandelbrot's work - more than that they create rules for how shapes are generated (like a space syntax). Exploring this one is a bit like peeling an onion - you never get to the core…


This is probably a banal "bulb" - but I found it interesting and would like to share it. This animation was made simply by exporting a rendered picture sequence from Mandelbulb3D and combining the pictures into a video in Windows 10 Video Editor. I found a Public domain soundtrack called New World by TRG Banks which I think fit.
