In the second half of 2010, Avicii was actively teasing his two upcoming releases with Tiësto, slated for release in 2011. One of the tracks was titled "Generations" and featured Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia.
Tiësto played Generations at multiple shows, however none of the tracks ended up being released, presumably due to Avicii's continued success as a solo/main artist as well as busy release and touring schedule in 2011.
In several interviews, Tiësto said that at the time the tracks needed more polishing as neither he nor Avicii was entirely happy with the result. After Avicii's passing, Tiësto expressed his wish to leave them unfinished.
