Australia has gone ‘too far’ in the ‘culture and identity wars’: Bernardi

Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi says “green lefty privilege” allows one to say “racist, sexist, hate filled, and anti-social” vitriol without consequence.

White male privilege, Mr Bernardi said, is a phrase used by this group to signify “just how virtuous [they] are” and those who use it are the “greatest hypocrites”.

“Whether it's excusing the depraved elite, defending corruption, rampant hypocrisy or simply being a total tool, GLP [green lefty privilege] gives you a leave pass the rest of us don't have,” Mr Bernardi said.

Mr Bernardi said “the green left tell us that gender doesn’t matter”, but why is it “all of a sudden” acceptable “to condemn or criticise someone because they’re male on the basis of their gender”.

Fellow panelist Catherine McGregor said, “if you don’t belong to a toxic conformist little ghetto now you end up isolated”.

“If you’re some battling tradie in Campbelltown, have you got white male privilege compared to Gillian Triggs? Of course you haven’t,” she said.
