Baker Street is a single by Gerry Rafferty. The song is taken from his album City to City. "Baker Street" was the second single from the album; two more would follow, but they were not successful in the Netherlands. The song, named after one of London's most famous shopping streets, is about the nights Rafferty was forced to stay overnight in London to settle matters regarding the closure of Stealers Wheel. Rafferty stayed with a friend who lived on Baker Street, where he played guitar and sang to express his frustration. The B-side was "Big Change in the Weather".
