Sheaffer Balance Oversized Black and Pearl 14k Gold Medium Nib Long Humped Clip

Description

This is a Sheaffer's Balance Oversized fountain pen made of Black and Pearl Radite (an early type of plastic). It was made in 1929, and features the long humped clip that was changed the following year. The Medium nib is made of 14k gold.
There is some tarnishing on the clip and cap band. The "pearl" has discolored due to aging, and is now cream/yellow in some areas and brown in others. Threads are intact and the cap screws down securely. There are light posting marks on the end of the barrel. When viewed close up, the cap has some hairline cracks, but none have gone all the way through (ie, split into a full crack). The pen will need to be serviced, it will not currently fill with ink.
