~ A Fine Set of 12 Georgian Sterling Silver Dinner Forks in the Kings Hourglass Pattern ~
~ Assayed in London in 1822, in the reign of King George IV ~
~ Made by William Eley and William Fearn ~
These lovely Georgian Silver Dinner Forks are in the classic Kings Hourglass Pattern with the scarce Union Shell heel.
The hourglass motif is still very crisp on these forks and the tines show a little wear commensurate with age.
They are made from a very heavy gauge of silver and weigh a total of 1296 grams (over 100grams each) and are 8" long.
There are 5 hallmarks on each fork -
Makers' Mark 'WE over WF' for William Eley and William Fearn,
Lion Passant,
Leopard's Head,
Date Letter 'h' for 1822 London,
Duty Mark.
These forks are engraved are engraved with the foliate initials 'JC'.
