English Hot Water Kettle Samovar Bateman Sterling Silver 1803
George III era English sterling silver hot water kettle or samovar, made by Peter, Ann & William Bateman, London, 1803. It has figural lion mask decorations with ring handles on the sides, and an engraved coat of arms on the front of the body, inscribed with the motto "Tace Ut Face For Right & Reason". All parts are there: lid, cover and access cover. Full set of hallmarks.
This magnificent antique kettle is 12 1/2" tall, 7" in diameter and weighs 1,734.2 grams or 55.9 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
