    Description

Presented is a wonderful Victorian English sterling silver cup. This piece dates to 1890, though it is done in the style of a late 1670s cup, something like a James II or Commonwealth period piece. The cup is nicely made and has decorative ribbing and gadrooning around the exterior. The interior has a gold wash. There is a blank oval cartouche, perfect for a monogram of your choice.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter P for 1890, and a maker's mark for Frederick Bradford Macrea of the Army & Navy Cooperative Society Ltd.
This piece is in excellent overall condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The cup stands about 2 1/4 inches tall.
The cup weighs 86.6 grams or 3.03 regular ounces.
